Travel & Stay

The entire day will take place at Chiswick House & Gardens,
so we recommend that you stay somewhere nearby.

Chiswick is located in West London. There are plenty of accommodation options nearby and getting there is simple.

International travel

Heathrow Airport is the closest to the venue. It takes only 15 minutes to get to Chiswick by taxi and 45 minutes using public transport. AirBaltic has announced that it will introduce direct flights from Riga to Heathrow this summer.

Gatwick Airport and London City Airport are about 1h 10min away from Chiswick by public transport. AirBaltic flies directly to Riga from Gatwick.

Stansted and Luton airports have direct flights from Riga with Rynair and Wizzair. They are about 1h 45min away by public transport from Chiswick.

Local travel

Chiswick train station (South Western trains) is a 10 minute walk from the venue.

Turnham Green (Piccadilly & District lines) is the closest tube station, about 20 minutes' walk away.

If you are staying in West London, a taxi might be the easiest way to get to the venue on the day. You can use the Uber app, the Gett app for black cabs or the Addison Lee minicab app. You might be able to hail a black cab on the street if you are staying in a busy area.

Where to stay

There are many hotels and Airbnbs in West London, with prices starting from £70/night per room (2 adults).

Many places offer free cancellation, so we suggest that you book your accommodation early - you will always be able to cancel it if plans change due to Covid.

We recommend using Booking.com to find your hotel. Use Google Maps to check how you will be able to get to the venue on the day - often a taxi will be an easier option than taking public transport.

The rules for entering the UK have changed; fully vaccinated EU and US arrivals are generally able to travel to the UK without quarantining.

Travellers need to show:

  • Proof of vaccination

  • A negative Covid-19 test result 72 hours or sooner before departure

  • Proof of a pre-booked Covid-19 test for the second day after arrival in the UK

Before departing the UK, you might need to take a Covid-19 test or quarantine on arrival to your destination. Check your government’s guidance on travel to find out. Latvia currently does not require proof of a negative Covid-19 test or any quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers.
